Default Front end conversion

I know you can replace the front fairing of an f4 with htat of an f4i if certain parts are changed. Well I wrecked my bike and the fairing stay, and front fairing are smashed so I figure now is a good time to do this. My bike already has f4i gauges on it and I am wondering what else I might need to do this swap.

Fairing stay, front fairing, and headlight. Good luck. I want to do the same but it is not in my budget yet.

How easy was it to stick the f4i gauges?.... did you do anything so the temp gauge would work?.... and how does the 14k rpm thing work out as well?

My temp gauge doesn't work. Also, you have to find a mounting point for the gauges.

do you plan on making it work?....

and what about 14k rpm on the gauge... even though our bikes has a 13.5... is the tach still accurate?... and when you say mounting point.... can i jsut use the same bracket or something that was on the f4i?

The tach is accurate just remember not to go to14k. The bracket that is used to mount it on the f4i is the fairing stay sso unless you are going to do a front end conversion no you can't mount it there. Right now I have no problems with the fact that m temp gauge doeswn't work as my fan still kicks on and everything.

I've done the swap to my f4. You need the f4i stay, upper, headlight, and windshield, and gauges. For your temp sensor to work, you need to swap out for the f4i's temp sensor. I'm not sure about the fuel gauge workin or not. The reserve light and bar graph come on when the reserve light would usually kickon, but Ihavent watched the bar graph long enough to see if that is accurate with the f4's fuel sensor or if it even moves. You need to rewire youre headlight harness for the dual bulb setup. I used the f4i headlight relay for the high beam. Also the ram air tubes wouldnt fit properly, the upper air chambers would have clearance issues with the headlight when mounting the upper.

I just cut down the upper air chambers on the ram air tubes to get a little clearance. I havent noticed any notice any negative effects from this, i think they are just there to keep noise down. As for the gauges I wired in the f4i hi beam relay, its pretty simple. 1 ground, 1 12v supply, 1 signal from the hi beam switch, and the output that goes to the bulb. I'll try to get some pics up. I don't have a a way of resizing my photos and the site won't let me post files that are too large or I can email you pics.

Please send as many pictures as possible. Since my fairing stay and front fairing are messed up I might as well do this. Plus I like the two headlights better!
