F4 won't start properly
Hi all. I just bought a used 1999 CBR600 F4. I noticed while riding the bike last week a lot of vibration between 4 - 6k rpm, noticeably 5.5k and decided to attempt to change the CCT myself.
I removed the gas tank and unplugged the TPC. I hopped on the bike and in first gear tried to rock the bike forward to get the rear wheel to spin to line up the " T " mark on the rotor generator with the marker. Didn't work so I gave up. I put everything back together but forgot to plug in the TPC. As the battery was dead, I tried jump starting the bike a few times. Finally got a bang so I stopped.
I put in a new battery today and tried again. It's really hard to start to bike and without throttle it simply dies. It doesn't sound right and still made a bang while starting.
Would jump starting the bike without the TPC sensor connected alter the timing of the bike?
Tomorrow, I'm going to check all the spark plugs and the resistances of the coil packs.
Thanks,
Paul

Plugs all spark and the coils all have a resistance 16.1 ohms. TPS has continuity as well as the ignition generator module or whatever its called.
Going to remove the valve cover and see if the timing is off. Looking at the service manual, either it's a lean fuel mixture or an ignition problem.
Any suggestions?
