Do you have to remove the battery tray and all that to remove the tail from a 2000 F4? I just want to remove mine to install one that I will be painting. Also does the tail light come off with the tail or does it stay? I take it it's a easy swap, but want to make sure.

If you are talking about the rear fairing, just take off the seat then the tail fairing. You don't have to remove anything else. Are you doing the F4 to F4i tail swap? If so follow this link:

Thanks and no. I'm just putting on another F4 tail and my Targa seat cowl. I bought a tail to paint black since my Targa is going to be black andI did not want to paint my yellow tail.

 

Cool. All you have to do is remove four screws and the tail will come right off. Very easy.

 

Thanks again-does the taillight stay on the bike or does it come off with the tail. I am just trying to have as little down time as possible.
