Default F4 EVAP location

First off, I'd like to thank all the members of this forum. I've only been a member a few days, but have learned so much already. Thanks guys!

I recently purchased an F4 from a friend of mine that needed some work done. One of the problems was the fuel tank would hold pressure when driving or sitting in the sun. My first thought was that it was a clogged breather hose, since that seems to be a fairly common problem with these tanks. When I removed the gas tank, I realized that nothing was hooked up to the breather tube on the bottom of the tank. After further research in the service manual, it appears as though that breather tube on the bottom of the tank needs to be connected to the EVAP canister. Now I don't see a tube anywhere near where the tank sits that could be a tube connected to the EVAP canister, nor could I locate an EVAP canister on the bike. Where is this normally located? Is it relatively out in the open, easy to spot? From the service manual it appears as though it is near one of the foot pegs, but I sure can't find it. The bike is lowered and I thought maybe it was removed due to the height of the bike? I don't know.

Anyway, any thoughts on the situation would be great!

Thanks,

ben

I think its on the button side of the bike between the foot pegs from the diagrams I've seen. I would guess it's been removed if you can't find it.

If your bike actually had an evap canister, removing it should have no negative effect.

You may have a CA model that's had the system removed.
