electrical issue ?
i have a 99 F4 with about 38k on it
I ride it every day runs AWESOME ! .
now i rode it for about 150km today no issues.
tonight i go start it up every thing seems good ... I get down the road and its starts well feeling like its running out of gas / missing really bad then just stalls, could not get it started for the life of me then would start up for a sec sound like its runnin out of gas / missing then stall ..
i can feel the fuel pump working ..
then i noticed that my ( trip A ) was 0.0 .. well thats not rite i had 150ish cause i keep track of my gas .. then the bike fired rite up drove home 6.3km .. shut bike off turn key on and trip A was back at 0.0 !
drove the bike for about 15km after with no issues
any ideas as to whats going on ?
Thanks

If you can get the bike running, check the voltage on your fuel pump circuit. I've been tracing down what seems to be a common issue with our bikes, that circuit is losing voltage through a bad connector or switch somewhere. Mine never gets over 10v and drops as low as 7v. If you pull your rear seat fairing off, check the fuel pump relay (should be the farthest relay to the back). Check the Black/White wire with the bike running and let me know what the voltage is at idle. If it's under 12v you are probably experiencing the same issue.

thanks I will have to take a look at that when the bike gets back i just sent it in to get the valves done .
would make sense that is my issue .. some days the bike seems to fall on its face and do nothing .. and other days it seems to run like a champ .. so if the pumps not always gettin proper voltage then that would make sence ..
thanks

Well, I'm actually thinking it's not really the pump per say, I think it's the spark plug coils not getting enough voltage. The bike will run for a while if there is fuel in the carbs, but when the pump kicks on, it drops my voltage under 10v and since it's on the same circuit as my spark plug coils they suffer as well and the bike pretty much falls on it's face.
