Dies when given throttle...
Recently purchased an F4 for a great price just has a problem of dying once given gas. I have drained the old gas from the tank and put in fresh 93. Motor starts right up but seems to only want to start when choke is on, it will either stay idling or it cuts off. If it is idling, any gas I give it above a certain small rpm cuts the motor off. Even from a roll once letting go of clutch and letting it try to roll with low idle rpm it cuts off and sometimes itll roll for a few feet and cut off.
If anyone could help me diagnose this and how to check I would greatly appreciate it so I can get this beauty riding. Currently stock airbox is removed so none of the vacuum lines are connected but it was also having this problem when everything was hooked up. I figure it might have to do with either the fuel pump or maybe a tps sensor? Thanks in advance!

fuel pumps easy to check just get a cup pop the fuel line from the pump into the carb off and hit the start button if fuel comes out in the cup decently its prob not the pump another way to check if its the pump is to disconnect the fuel line goin into the pump from the tank and disconnect the line from the pump goin into the carb then connect the line from the gas tank to the carb like a gravity feed set up make sure to disconnect power supply to the pump so you dont burn it up if it is working, but then try starting the bike and see if it runs without the pump prob wont be able to hammer on it but it should drive without the pump, if it still dies then you prob got a carb problem maybe needs a good cleaning, or possible like you suggested the tps.
I'm having a very similar problem. I put my '00 away late last fall (late October, IIRC?) with the proper amount of good-quality stabilizer in the fuel, which I let get thoroughly circulated (drove to work for several days). A couple months later, I tried to start the bike just to warm the engine, as winters here are very long. It would only idle at a very low rpm, and instantly die if I tried to open the throttle. Sometimes it would even die just at that super-low idle. No amount of letting it idle/warm would help. I just put the trickle charger on the battery the rest of the day (to combat all the starting I'd subjected it to) and then left it.
Day before yesterday I took the carbs partially apart, thinking the above issue was related to gunk despite no other evidence nor reason to suspect same. Carbs were pristine inside, excepting that one low speed jet was at least partly clogged. Everything else was totally beautiful, though I didn't try to pull the needles out; just the jets.
Put it back together, and now it mostly won't even start. Once or twice I got it to idle very low, but then it dies. Ether will let it run perfectly and at good rpm for a second, but of course that can't last.
Any thoughts? Fuel filter plugged? I hear the fuel pump for just a second when I first turn on the key, but not after that. Of course, the starter is loud enough that I probably couldn't hear the fuel pump anyway...
Edited to add: Air filter is new; old one was not very dirty.

when i got my 99 befor winter it ran ****y and idled bad in the low rpm range felt like a miss. i tuned it up but the plugs i pulled were new so i ran a bottle of sea foam through it now it perrs like a big kittin lol
My 00 F4 did the same thing I drained the gas and changed the fuel filter and it ran ok afterwards but it still is running funny the stalling when warmed up and shutting off. Ive noticed its been running ok hough after i charge the battery so im still chasing the problems on my bike but I believe it is a combination of problems on my bike personally. Its happened twice though i had to drain the gas but its cranked right up afterwards both times.
my 99 f4 has those same problems!! i took off the carbs and cleaned them really well but when i give it gas it dies immidiatly! i have no clue why but i guess ima have to take it to a shop and let them look at it
