Dent in gastank.
#6
i know of a few different options depending on where you want to go with it
-body filler and repair paint-..this works, does require paint work but you still have a dent and depending on the severity could effect fuel level and mileage.
-repair the dent-.. my opinion would be to grind to bare metal, weld a stud on and pull the dent with a slide hammer as is usually done with dents at body shops to pull panels, you would then need a thin layer of body filler and sand/prime/paint to finish the repair.
-freezing water in the tank-..i know some harley guys that have done this with success, remove and drain the fuel tank, fill with water, seal and leave in freezer. as the water freezes and expands it should push the dent out, i would keep an eye on the tank and as soon as the dent pops pull the tank out and allow to thaw so it doesnt push anywhere else out, you do however run the risk of something being pushed out that you don't want pushed out.
-paintless dent-...this will work as long as the dent is somewhere that the paintless guys can get to through the fuel cap and repair without distorting the seal for the filler cap
best of luck, if possible post up some pictures of the dent
