#22
I suppose the goal for me is retro my f4 with modern style and full function in mind
I guess if this doesnt pull through I'll be on the mission to throw a chinese koso rep at her

Whats Wrong with koso gauges?
You wont be able to use the fuel level indicator only the fuel low light, Now it is most likely doable but you run into issues of having to use an f4i tank and fuel pump if you use the f4i tank than you will most likely need to use the f4i airbox and I dont know if the airbox can even be used with carbs.

sorry for such a late response CJ; honestly i dont have a single problem with koso... the only problem is (and you guys will hear/see me say this alot), is that this is my last year in hawaii, i need to be back riding in that beautiful atmosphere before i leave. ive cut alot of corners and took cheaper routes for certain parts of the build mainly just to hold me down until i get to AZ. Besides, a good ol' cheap chinese koso knockoff would be a great thing to review and test, since we have so many questions about it with so few answers (i wont mind being the ginuea pig )

Oh yea considering youve got a street-track-star a logger would be a beautiful addition . Let me know if you decide to sell the koso cheaper than a chinese knock lol. If possible, (even though im sure there is one), hopefully you could post a vid with your personal review of the logger. At the moment i'd just rather trust opinions of the people who share this forum with me.

I can confirm for you that the f4i reserve light works on the f4 , but
yeah there's no actual fuel level displayed. It reads full until you
hit the reserve level of the f4 sensor. Once you hit that it starts to
blink. No FI light, you need a temp. sender from a 98-99 900rr for
that to read correctly and it's plug n play. The wire schematics
I found for f4i to f4 were spot on but there are two black and brown
wires to connect, one is black with a brown stripe, the other
brown with a black stripe. It would be easy to get these two
confused cause one is for the reserve light and the other
goes to the ignition. Aside from that it's an easy swap!
