I found that between a few threads and having done the swap on my f3 before the info is around but some of it slightly unclear or just hard to find.

I did this again lastweekend on the f4 this time and I should have thought to take a pic of the wiring before i covered everything up again but i didn't so ill just list off what I have.

I was happy to find out that the reserve indicator on the f4i gauges works once you wire it into the f4

also there's one wire some people have listed including here which i think is incorrect and caused me some confusion here

in the f4i color listing illumination is written as bl/w

in reality I've found it's brown and white. but I'll just list off what colors i have going where.

First a couple of things to note, if you look at the f4 wiring you'll find 2 of each of the following

black/brown
green
green/black

a quick look at the wiring diagram from the manual will show you that each one joins into eachother so when connecting to those colors you can pick either black/brown and it wont make a difference, same goes for the green and the green/black.

I'll put ** in front of the ones where you can use either one of the two wires on the f4 side it wont make a difference.

one wire is all f4 side, I read that the 20km/h wire should be grounded

so i went

** pink/yellow to green (all f4wiring not to f4i)---------- 20kmh to ground

F4 left F4I right

green/blue to green/blue ----------temp
pink/green to pink/green ----------speed
**black/brown to black/brown -----IGN
**black brown to brown/white ----illumination
red to red/green ------------------battery
light blue to light blue ------------- right turn
blue to blue -----------------------highbeam
light green/red to light green/red ---neutral
blue/red to blue/red ---------------oil
yellow/green to yellow/green -------tach
** green to green -----------------ground
**green/black to green/black ------sensor
**green/black to green/white ------sensor (f4) sidestand (f4i)
orange to orange ------------------left turn
brown/black to brown/black --------res sensor

all of the f4 wires will be used 2 of the f4 wires will go into eachother as listed at the top the pink/yellow into either one of the greens.

the rest will go into the f4i side.

one wire will be left unused from the f4i side which is the white/blue fi indicator light since we're carb'd

the ones i was most unsure about were the 20km/h one and the sidestand, there was only one post i read that said ground the 20km/h and run the sidestand to one of the sensor wires on the f4 side.

thats exactly how mine is hooked up currently and it's working.

figured I'd just put this here for the next guy so he doesn't need to flip through a few threads to find the info.

and to clear up the brown/white wire

Bumping this thread so the reserve indicator works? like the bars that show you how much you have left???

or is it just a light like on the F4?

I may want to do this when i get my 99 F4

this will be helpful when i do my gauge switch. Hoping it goes well. Not a fan of electrical but I will try to take pics and show some detail when I do.

You would still be running the F4 sender, so the bar graph won't work... I had hoped to use the "FI" light as the low fuel light.
