R&G Racing company in Britain do a crash protectors that don't need drilling, I bought a set and fitted them and they feel nice and sturdy and good quality. this product according to the makers is heavily tested and will protect your bike in a mild crash, but they don't advise it will save you or your bike from a big crash because nothing can not even the drill crash protectors.

what is the big diffrence with the drill frame slider and the non drill, obviously you need to do some drilling but what would is so wrong with the non drill ones that everyone shuns them?

the drill ones are basically a straight post coming out from the side of the bike and are mounted down in the engine mount bolt wells. this setup is very strong. These non-drill ones are mounted on a bracket, forming an L shape, meaning you have added weak points to your crash protection/
