Exclamation common for oil to smell like gas and have a little gas in it?

I changed my oil three weeks/ 7 hundred miles ago with amsoil 10/40 and honda filter. now it has a slight/ hint of gas smell.i oil cap and smelled it then took some out to examine. it still smells more like oil than gas, like it should, has not broken down viscosity. like i said its not an over whelming smell of gas in the oil its just a slight smell. is this normal or should i be worried?

It's not abnormal.

A certain amount of unburned fuel will get past the rings and into the crankcase. You can have the oil analyzed to tell you just exactly how much is there if you like. Such an analysis would cost anywhere from ~$10 to ~$125 (which will get you a lot more info, too). You don't _want_ fuel in the oil, so the less the better. Nevertheless, my experience is that it's not uncommon for oil to have a slight to moderate fuel smell, and for the actual fuel content to be up to a couple percent fuel (again, less is better as the fuel interferes with the oil doing its job of lubricating).
