I started my bike up this morning(very early, still dark) I noticed smoke in the reflection on the garage the light was making. I turned the bike off. Tried to start and nothing happend didnt even make a sound. Still had dash lights, neutral ect. Im assuming the ignition wire burnt off? If anyone has some advice that would be great, I dont where to start! Im thinkin on taking the gas tank off but I dont want to if I dont have to. Also the last few days ive noticed oil spots on the garage floor(maybe completly unrelated)
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Taking the tank off won't do you much good, just take the seat off and start sniffing around in there, that's where the battery, fuses and starter relay are. If the starter doesn't even click, start with the attached diagragm. Could be any of those things. An oil spot on the ground would be unrelated but something you should take care of as well.

There are too many possibilities at this point... we need more detail. Did the smoke you saw smell like smoke? If you didn't smell anything, it could have just been moisture.
Check the battery's charge with a volt meter. If you don't have a meter, charge it... if you don't have a charger, buy one, its invaluable. You may have just had a slow start and drained the battery.
Speaking of which, maybe it didn't start because it sat for a while... did it? See... lots of questions. Give more details. How long did it sit? Did you do any recent changes or mods?
