Default Bike won't keep running

Just bought a 99' cbr 600 F4 and has been running good for the past week then went on my first long ride and about a mile from my house i was giving it gas around a corner and it kinda sputered a few times and then died. It had a full tank a gas and i tried starting it again and nothing. So i hauled it home drained the gas and put new gas in it because the other gas didn't smell right. Put it on the battery charger because the battery had gone dead. Soon as it was charged up i tried to turn it over and it started right up and ran good. So i took it for a ride and about a half mile down the road it started to sputer againand died again. My battery has been dying on me a lot so i put it on the charger again and it started right up this time again but i had to keep it on full choke to keep it running and then it died it again. I'm new to these kinda bikes so i don't even know where to start any suggestions anybody. Could it be my battery?

If it smelled werid, it might of just been bad gas. And it might of fauled your pluggs. Pull them out and check them. Then lets us know what they look like.

Sounds like rectifier/regulator. Possibly a bad ground somewhere. Sounds electrical vs mechanical. Fuel pump maybe?

Perhaps you had a vaccuum building up in your fuel tank from a plugged/pinched vent hose, starving the fuel system for fuel. When you open your fuel lid, do you hear a loud rush of air? Next time it happens, try opening up your fuel lid and cranking it again.

The same thing happen to me back in April. It was the carbs. Check your plugs too. Its normal for the battery to die in this case because you keep trying to start the bike after it shuts down.

Carb
plugs

Hope this helps.

Got the bike all fixed up it was a lose electrical connection to the fuel pump so it was not pumping fuel. But thank you for all of the advice i found stuff in the process that needed to be changed. Again thanks.
