Default 99 f4 no spark

putting a 1999 cbr f4 engine in a kart and cannot get spark. i have stock harness with all components that "seem" to look good. i have all good grounds, initial voltage coming to all four spark plugs with the ignition on, and no peak voltage when i engage the starter. i have gone through all the saftey checks as well: sidestand, nuetral, and clutch and provided ground signals to disable them. i can turn the bike over and no spark is evident when i have the plug out and grounded to the head. i can spray ether in the carbs and get it to spudder, but i pull the plugs out and can't see any spark when grounding the plug. i was wondering if anyone ever figured out how to get this thing to spark. i have the clymer manual and its not helping much. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I would use the inline one just to be sure. It sounds like you are getting a weak spark at the very least if you could get it to sputter. Your battery good?

yea battery fully charged, cranking the motor at full capacity. no spark when i ground a brand new, clean, dry, gap-checked spark plug to the head. i have tried all four cylinders too. its very strange that it will still ignite starting fluid in the cylinder though. it also dies immediately after i let off the starter when it sputters. i think im getting a weak signal from the computer or something. how do i check that?

You need to check voltages with a meter. Unfortunately I dont know that system well enough to say what or where.
There is a chance that the sputter you get with the ether is the engine "dieseling"
You do have the engine block grounded right? If its not grounded there will be no spark aka you have an open circuit.

make sure you have a good connection to the pulse generator in the sidecase that reads the flywheel. That's what generates the signal to tell it to fire.
