mine sounds like its missin alittle at cruzin speeds but runs like a raped ape any time i give it throttle so i havent put much thought into it other than it might need a carb sync since i recently tuned it up when i bought it.

mine doesnt jerk or have any ill affects it just sounds like its missin alittle when holdin a steady speed may just be me nitpickn lol. first thing i would do if you havent all ready is a tune up my 99 had a ****ty idle and was jerky at low rpms when i got it last year, tune up didnt help it but a bottle of seafoam cleared it right up

Check all the connectors that are located under the front of the gauges are all clipped in properly and not corroded, these connect your gauges, indicators and handle bar switches into the main loom. you will have to remove the front headlight fairing to get to them.

BUMP

My track bike build is doing the same thing as number 1.

Carbs are completely cleaned and sync'd (throttle open sync doesn't matter, BTW).

First and second seem fine and redline easily. Third gear struggles to power through 11.5k to redline...as if it's hitting a soft marshmallowy wall and when I shift into 4th it won't rev over 10k as if it hit a hard, ill tempered wall. In fifth it won't rev over ~9k.

is there any mods done to the bike? mine was missing at idle and it was because the 20k sensor wire was not hooked up. i did the f4i conversion and the wire needed to be grounded

Only mod done is a K&N. I bought it bone stock with the exception of the filter.

The mains are 132 (1&4) and 135 (2&3) right now which I believe is stock.

Mine is doing the very same thing (all 3 issues). I was strongly suspecting the battery seems like the winter killed it wasn't holding a charge well last summer anyways. However hearing that you replaced yours and its still acting up has me a little worried.

Ive read here and other places that these Honda's run off the battery? I have always thought you could bump on a dead battery and the bike would run fine (off the charging system)until you turned it off, is that not the case?

Psy
