Gotcbr, OEM is typically best. The ole gel filled plastic really didnt have that great of heat transfer to the subframe.

Ashapike, get in there and learn all you can bud. Your dealing with something that if yo learn will apply to every bike youll ever own.... unless you get a DUI. It doesnt work on mountian bikes lol!

Well went to ride today filled bike up with fuel and wouldent fire was turning slow and battery went dead very quik. Yet again bumped straight away guess my mates testing is not good was trying to avoid taking it to autoelectrician but guess iv got no choice

Thats not good. If your going to take it to someone take it to the dealer. Did you check that you were getton 13 + volts when the bike was running and what rectifier did you use?

Sounds to me like you have a fuel pump/pump relay problem. I had the same thing with my 2000 F4 after troubleshooting turned out the relay was not bringing the pump on. I bypassed the relay and the bike ran great. Put the relay back online and it acted exactly as you are stating. I got away with giving the relay a good whack on the bench and a contact cleaner bath then some WD40 and it has been fine. Survived 2 trackdays and many trips down the road. when it acts up again I will replace it.

The rectifier is a oem one with the fins i put volt meter on battery when she was at running temp and about 1100 revs showing 14.5 to 14.6.switch lights on it drops to 12.5.if i hold revs at 3000 with lights on it shows 14.2 and lights off 14.6 any ideas??really appreciate the help

Thanks will keep this in mind for next aswell as it looks like the charging system is fine to me i not sure what to do next

Well after i thought the test on the battery was acurate it turns out it was not.i fitted new one yesterday out of interest and done 100 mile yest without a hickup or a non start happy days

i have a honda cbr600 f4 ,it start good ,throttle good .when ridding the bike it only goes to 2000 rpms, not further,feels like blokking ,blubbring,. i have change the spark plugs, engine oil ,filters .but the same.when i ride the bike from the first gear full throttle runs good.,but drive 60 km/h and give some throttle is blockking. yeah and also cleean the carb,and put a new gasoline pump. the same thing .please advise me ,what i can test further
