i know this has been brought up thousands of times (maybee not that many but still) i need to replace my cct i think but i dont have the time or money right now but will it hurt my bike if i done replace it right away?

 

what sort of mileage have you got? i'v e just had mine replaced at 66,000 but there are some interesting threads on the general tech page that you might want to look at. (distribution chain) being one of them.

 

i have a little over 10,000 miles on the bike and like i said im not reall sure if its the cct or not i just know its a tic-tic-tic comeing from the front of the motor and from what i have read i just figured it could be

 

i think there has only been 1 case where someone's cctl totally failed, bike jumped teeth and jacked everything up...and this was on an RC51. as far as F4 and F4i, i've only read 1 where someone claimed the dealer told them that the bike was busted up because of a failed cctl, like at 50 miles...i find that to be pure BS...the dealer only said that cause they had nothing else to say. the damage didn't support a failed cctl.

 

sounds very early for the CCT to fail. try tahoes tip on the other thread i already mentioned.

 

well...it's from the F4 so it uses the old cctl before they supposedly 'bettered' it...buahaha...what bs eh?
