So I picked up a 2000 cbr 600f4 (carbed, not the f4i) and so far so good, it's been an amazing little machine. No problems or issues since I have owned the bike and I have put almost 3k miles on it in the last 8 weeks I have owned it. It is tuned and jetted and has a full d&d exhaust set up I have replaced chain and sprockets, tires, brakes (probly needs a master cylinder rebuilt (front brakes are soft), levers, and fluids. I'm just wondering if there is anything significant I should be taking a look at like cct, or checking the valve clearances. Not afraid to get into the motor at all, I'll be doing all of the work myself so any advice or concerns I should be looking into would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Welcome to the forum.
How many miles has it done?
Other than what you have already done, probably just the fork oil (not sure if you include these in fluids?) and braided hoses.
If it doesn't rattle at c.4-5k then CCT is ok, at c. 30k the valves will probably need doing, but once again if its running well they should be ok.
