hey guys i have been driving my bike forawhile now. Tonite i took it for about a2 hour drive, and it was pretty warm weather. Is it possible that because my bikewas getting hot enough, for the fan to be on all the time that a brand new battery died.? By hot enough i mean the gauge was reading just above the middle. The battery hasnt given me such a problem since i got it about 3 weeks ago. Is there anything else it can be? I bump started it and drove for short period about 5 min and then I couldnt even bump start it because there wasnt enough power. During that short period my bike was back firing redicolously. Is stator bad, or maybe the rectifier. I will check those two things tomorrow but when i was getting my battery i did those tests and everything was ok. So im not sure what it can be. By the way when i drive to skool i never had this problem, and skool is about 30km away

 

Check all the connections making sure they're good. You have to check if you are getting a charge back to the battery. When it's idling and slowly rev it too 5k. The voltmeter should read between 13 - 15 volts.

 

If your battery died in three weeks you have a charging issue.

 

K it turned out to be the rectifier, got it changed along with the thermostat( which was stuck), and then got my carbs synced. And now the bike is frickin awesome .

 

Your thermo was stuck open? Lucky dude!
