Are you sick of me yet?
So my 97 600 F3 is all stock. its the purple/yellow one. Im looking for just a few things to "spice" up the look of it, but not trying to break my bank. Just ordered a new windshield. I wanna get some new levers. I really like the look of the gold Pazzo levers, but $160? geesh. would it be plausible to just, paint my existing ones? or do I run into some sort of problem doing that?
Changing the exhaust.....I made a post earlier...and someone said I might have to get a jet kit? If I get a slip on do I just take the old one off and put the new one on? Anything else ya'll might suggest?
Heard that changing the sprokets/chain can not only give a nice look but can also give a performance boost? is that something easy to change yourself, anndd any good sites to get them?

Alright the pazzo's are great and you can get them cheaper if you get them from motomummy.com but if you just want new levers you can get some aftermaket anodized( any color) or carbon fiber looking ones for less than $25. Painting them would look like crap because the bracket they fit into, and your fingers, would rub the paint off. If you just put a slip on you don't have to add a jet kit but to get full performance out of it yes a jet kit will help. Slips are easy as all hell to put on. As you said take the old one off and slip the new one on then ride it. Sprockets to are easy to change specially when you have front and rear stands. Sprocket specialist is a good site to get them but most any shop can get you the RK 520 quick acceleration kit for the F3 from Vortex.
Thanks
Think i found a nice pair of gold levers on ebay for pretty cheap. Think gold will accent the yellow/purple f3 decently? or should i go with black.....gonna go with the black D & D slip on, flush mount front turn signals, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LED-I...spagenameZWDVW to get flush mounted rear turn signals, some black n yellow gel hand grips.....and a dark smoke wind screen. all seems pretty cheap quick and easy way to give the bike a less stock look at stand out a little more i think.
the various type of stands they sell, do they clip onto something on a stock bike? or do i have to add those little pegs to set it on? gonna do a lot of work on it this winter in my garage, so gotta get that set up soon too.

For the love of all that is holy don't get a D&D, they are obnoxiously loud and annoying. Get a Two Brothers or Yoshimura, anything but D&D. Get a T Rex stand off ebay they a $105 shipped for both front and rear stand and you don't have to add spools to use them, the F3 doesn't have spools anyways. Don't go over board adding these cheap color matching things sometime it sounds like a good idea but can look like total ***.
i second the not getting a D&D pipe . That is what my bike came with , and it sounds ok if your cruisin luggin it , but if you open her up , might as well be runnin can-less . I will be changing it asap . G/L
only reason i was leanin towards the D&D pipe is because i wanted the black color. all the other ones are silver/chrome looking. liked the black better. not going TOO overboard with the "tacky" things. I was looking at like gold valve colors and stuff like that, but that was a little TOO much. any opinion on the flush mounted rear end light?
From the sounds of it he isn't trying to spend alot of money so purchasing a new fairing set isn't going to work into his equation. The word is throw not through by the way.
