Default Would love some input from the mechanically inclined!

Recently got ripped off buying a used CBR F3.

I test rode it, things seemed fine. On the ride home, coolant starts to leak out the side of the engine block, I'm guessing from the head gasket??

Spark plugs are new, just put in a new air filter/thermostat as both of those were totally blown. Had the carbs cleaned out by some buddies of mine, but still have the same issue. Bike runs pretty well for about 15-20 mins, then out comes the coolant from the top of the engine block.

Just seems to be one small area directly under one of the radiator hose's. My mechanically inclined buddies think its possibly a blown head gasket. Does this sound right?

And if so. How hard of a self fix will this be? I assume a shop will charge an arm and a leg and my left rib.

Appreciate all the advice in advance!
And any mechanically inclined folks in NoVa holler @ me if you want some side work!

I'm actually taking him to civil court.
Already got him a felony charge on altering the title.
I rode it back as soon as the leak happened, less than 5 mins away, and he disappeared.
I tried his phone and supposedly he sold it to a friend.

So I got scammed.

But if I'm stuck with it, I got some time off to try to work on it.

Is there any way you can provide pictures of exactly where the coolant is coming from. This would help a great deal.

Yea a better description of what part is actually leaking would be helpful. A head gasket is plausable but there are still alot of other possibilities that would make a head gasket the least of your worries. But as far as replacement goes, if you have a basic concept of an engine and can follow steps in a repair manual then all it will take is a little bit of money (probly between $50-$75) and some of your time.

Attached Picture.
It starts to leak just under the hose with the thermostat. Along the black rim on the engine.
Only after about 20-25 mins of riding.
Only happened twice since in my possession. Assuming more if he knew about it.
The original ride home and then after we cleaned out the carbs changed the thermo/air filter because they were toast.

I watched my buddies take it apart. I dont have much engine/mechanical knowledge, its all computer side. Pretty sure I could figure it out if i tried.

Worst case is there a chance I can blow myself up if not put together properly? lol.
That'd be my biggest concern I suppose. Have some piston shoot out the wrong spot or something....
