wont start???
i started my bike up this morning, and it warmed up with no problems. Then i came out this afternoon and it wouldnt start, it would turn over fine, but it wouldnt catch. I ran the battery down so I tried to pop the clutch out and start it for a while, it would just do the same thing. it smells like its getting gas, and there is gas in the tank, one time i popped the clutch and it backfired. But i cant get it started, got any suggestions?

RE: wont start???
what about your stater and rectifier (SP?) and no i dont mean starter .. its the electronic box usually grey ... i hear thats a normal item to go out on our F3's.. my bro had a GSXR-750 and it did the same thing.. sometimes it would be fine other times no... you can jump the battery and it will fire up but after a while it will die out if shut off ... so check that out, sometimes you can see the wires melted

RE: wont start???
OK spud, on Honda's it is a usual problem for the rectifier/regulator to go out. I showed it you when we had the plastics off your bike at your house. I believe it's under the right tail fairing, but it might be under the left. It's a little grey or black box with wires running to it. It's the same thing I replaced on the 929. It also may be the stator. They also go bad a lot on honda a lot. The only way to figire it out is to get a volt meter and find out how many volts you should be pushing both at idle and when you rev up to about 5 grand both before and after the regulator/rectifier. I believe after you should be at around 12 or 12.5 volts at idle then around 14.5 or 15 when you rev to 5 grand AFTER THE R/R. But you really need to know the specs before the R/R because that's the only way you will figure out what is bad. it's good before the R/R but you don't match specs after it then you know what ur problem is. The R/R is a easy fix but finding the part may be a pain. The Stator is the exact opposite. Either way, those parts deal with the charging system so you need to fix it to get her running again. Call me A.S.A.P. and we can figure a way to get it fixed.
