You all have helped me out on some previous issues and I have another one that is really frustrating me. I have a 1998 f3 motor in my minisprint race car. Two weeks ago I had to replace my voltage regulator that seemed to have cured my problem. I had a problem with the voltage from my battery draining after a fresh charge with the motor not running. It wouldn't put a charge back into my battery while running either. After changing the voltage regulator all of that seemed cured. In the past week I have fired the motor off a few times and everything has seemed perfect. Today I got to my garage to fire off my car and the battery was dead. I tried putting a charge back into it but as soon as I took the charger off and put my voltage tester to the battery it would just sit there and drain. If I pulled the fuse it would stop draining. The car will not start now it will just clicks. Would this be the regulator again? If so what could be killing my regulators? Please help!!

 

First thing, have you tested the battery? If it's been getting pounded prior to your original fix,
it could be it's time for a new one.

After that, gonna have to inspect every inch, looking for a short. Don't neglect giving the battery
a good scrubbing. If it's really dirty it can discharge across the top of the battery, itself.
