Question blinker wiring issue

i have a little blinker and taillight problem. and i hope someone can help. On my gauge cluster my signal lights are always on and so are the blinkers themselves. so when i try to connect the signal lights up on my intergrated taillight, the blinkers stay on blocking out my brake light. does anyone know what the issue could be? i need to figure out how to get the blinkers to stay off until i try to use them. thanks

your problem is upfront with turn signal wiring!

First of all, do all four indicator lights stay on at once or is it just one side that stays on when you work the switch? If you can operate the front and rear brake lights ok, independantly from one another, then those circuits would seem to be ok. It might be a faulty indicator relay which is not allowing the indicators to 'flash'. Try another one that you know works and see if that cures the problem and also check the connections in the indicator switch to make sure they are not 'shorting out' inside and causing a permanent connection.

I had the same issue when i went to LED front markers and the intergrated tail light. What you need to do is find the blinker wires that are hot all the time when you are not using the blinkers and pull them from your power wire on the marker lights. The only wire you want on the front markers other than the ground wires is the wire that pushes voltage out of it when you turn on that sides blinker and just hook it up to the correct blinker. When you do that your tail light problem will be solved though your marker lights will not be on all the time but there is nothing you can do about it unless you go back to stock marker lights.

Either get a flasher relay or solder in diodes and resistors. I highly recommend the rumble concepts relays. they work well and they are rather small.

You could try picking up a circuit tester for $10 at Canadian Tire
