wierd rattling/ticking noise...and ideas?
So a few weeks ago I noticed a "ticking" noise when i accelerated between 2000-7000 rpm...
the noise is now more pronounced, and sounds more like a rattling. again, I can only hear it when accelerating between 2-7, after that it seems to go away.
I was thinking exhaust... but i'm really not sure. maybe the belt?
any ideas?
I hope I dont have to take it into the shop because im broke.....
Thanks for the help

Try and get an idea where its coming from. Rev the bike a bit while parked and see where its coming from if it will even happen. This will let you know if its the engine or somthing else. My first thought when a ticking noise is present generally indicates either engine timing or valve clearance but if the bike doesnt tick when the bike is still then its probably a loose bolt somewhere. Exhaust, fairing, etc..

Same Problem
Hey I had the same thing except it was about 4-6k rpms. I actually just fixed it today. Mine was a loose screw in the front of the upper fairing, which was causing my windscreen to rattle between the gauge cluster and fairing. Try putting your fingers between the windscreen and cluster and putting pressure one way or the other. That always made mine stop. If you have an aftermarket slip on you may want to take a look at the springs holding that on also. Mine have a very faint rattle around 5k rpms but there isnt really anything I can do about it and it doesnt really bother me.
