RE: Wheelies
what do you mean by starting point? start in first gear and find an open parking lot. I think the easiest way for someone to learn is to put your left foot on your rear peg and your right foot covering your brake! I can't stress enough to take your time, don't get greedy, expect it to take you like 3 months to find bp, take your time and make sure you are always COVERING YOUR REAR BRAKE!!! If you think it's coming up to fast or going back to far, gently tap your rear brake.
It's kinda common sense once you get the basics down, just take your time, your not going to be able to do a bp wheelie in a day, or a month for that matter.

RE: Wheelies
btw i wouldn't start doing power wheelies, i learned by clutching it up. You have to just get used to your bike, and the sounds that the motor makes, as well as mastering throttle control. Basically you want to roll into first gear with just a little but of throttle, then when you get about halfway (? your bike may feel different) through the rev range, just grab the clutch and flick the throttle open. This sounds alot easier than it is, but you don't want to pull the clutch in all the way, you just want to pull it in just enough to slip it and get your revs up by flicking the throttle open.
Get out there and try it, but be safe and start small, don't try to do a huge wheelie at first just try to get the front wheel off of the ground maybe 6 inches, with control. after you can do 6 inches or so, go a little bigger and master that, then bigger and so on and so forth.
If you try and go crack open a bp wheelie your first time your going to flip your bike and i'm going to laugh. Stay safe and good luck!!!

My buddy who use to ownmy 600 was the wheelie master on the bike. He'd do Tank Wheelies in 2nd gear off of clutch. I'll get him to do some wheelie vids on my bike later on.
You can try bouncing the bike. Basically get to 7-8grand and just start floring it and letting off a couple times then it will eventually bounce into the air.
