I bought a 65mm oil filter socket, which was the smallest size available. But it is a tad too large for my oil filter. What is the correct size oil filter socket? Is there an oil filter brand that comes with the socket? Where can I get the appropriate size socket?

 

I like oil filter pliers better than sockets. Good leverage and adjustable size.

 

I just stab it with a philips screw driver and use the torque to take it off, lolz, who needs all these fancy toys.

yes very messy! and thanks demon on the advice but im still trying to find out what hell the size is, at this point I just wanna know. You know?

 

The honda filter I use is 64mm in diameter at the "nut" end.

haha, its not that messy you just keep the bowl underneath, its just like draining the tank, might as well save a few bucks for mods! lol

 

Make sure when you put it back on that you don't over tighten it and you shouldn't even need a wrench. They say as you're screwing it on wait until you feel contact then turn it about 3/4 turn. Also lube the o-ring with oil.
