Default What is involved in replacing a shock?

I'm curious because my stock shock is shot. How and where would I lift up the middle of the bike to relieve pressure? Any help would be awesome. Thanks guys.

John

If you have a stable overhead rail then use nylon straps and lift from the frame behind the seat.

Well is it the front or rear? If its the rear take off the seat and lift it with a cherry picker or somthing if its the front take of the fairings and do it only a few bolts holding it on but you will have to take off the clip on as well

the best way i found is to put jack stands on the rear sets not on the pegs thats how i got my swing arm off and shock but be careful when u do that because the bike can fall over it might be better to loosen the bolts befour u put it on jack stands hope this helps you
