Default Valve Clearances

I'm checking the valve clearances on my '96 F3. My exhaust valves are all within the specified tolerance, but my intake valves are all WAY OFF. The tolerance for intake valves is 0.16mm +/- .03mm. Nearly all of the intake valves are too tight even for my smallest feeler gauge (.038mm). I have a shim kit on the way, but I'm wondering if these clearances are anything to be concerned about. Any information is appreciated. Thanks for the time, CBR Forum.

This one's been talked about before, you might have to adjust the intake twice.

To start though, use smaller shims calculated on the zero clearance. Install those
and then re-check the clearance. That should get them opened up enough to check
them with the feeler guages in the normal way. As far as how they got that way,
consensus in the previous post was that can be a normal wear pattern.

Hope this helps, Ern
