upgrade headlight to 90w/130w hella?
With a proper relay setup, does the bike produce enough power through the alternator or whatever to nearly triple the amperage draw for the bulb?
I have had these 90w/130w hella's in my Jeep with upgraded European "E-code" glass headlamps and the light output is stunning. It seems to be as bright as HID's, i like how the entire horizon lights up when i hit a big bump, and they have super sharp cut-offs.

I did this conversion to my Hurricane - see recent thread in that forum, but the end result was that the alternator had enough grunt to run the 90W, but not 130W. In the Hurrincane its a 315W or 346W alternator (2 different figures in the same manual) @ 5,000 rpm. Did you try it in the end, and if so how did it go? What capacity alternator does the F3 have?
Found out that there was a faulty connection from the alternator that was cutting down the output on my CBR600F1... fixed that, and now the bike has no problem coping with the 130W bulb. Hasn't stuffed the rectifier or anything else in the system yet - I've been using it for several months for weekly daytime trips of about 2 hours, including on full beam just to try it out.
