Default Undertail Options

So i was just wondering what you guys thought would be the best option for cutting and making an undertail for you bike. I have the airtech race fairing and i was thinking about just using a piece of cardboard to get the right size and dimensions for a template. Then using a piece of aluminum/sheet metal and just spraying painting it or something. What do you guys think? What have you found out works best? Got any pics?

na i tried it myself.

it requires a mold (at least for the 97/98 tail)

tried doing that kinda thing myself and well...
it's a biotch.

im sure you can fab one up to work, but as far as making it line up, the tail is actually slightly curved and such that a flat piece of metal wont work.

Hey thanks a lot spicy. Yeah it seems like a lot more involved then I thought. Thats why i figured i would ask you guys whats up. I found that demented did a really good write up and stuff.

But i didnt know if anyone knew if the undertail would be different with the airtech rear fairing or even those all one piece rear fairing that you can get on ebay which is really similar to the airtech. I am gonna try some stuff out and ill let you know what happens. But if anyone else has had anyone experience let me know. Thanks.

they may have an undertail kit for it, but you might need to make a phone call or 2.

Yeah your right spicy. They do have an undertail kit for it. Its pretty expensive though. I am gonna try a few other ways and see how it turns out before i drop a lot of money on one. Thanks a lot though man.
