Hey guys. Got an undertail off Ebay. Has turn signals and license plate lamp. It's a simple bolt on until I get to the wiring.

Its harness has 4 wires: Red, Black, Blue and Green. How do I splice this into my harness?

 

unbolt your seat and then the center tail section (2 10mm bolts), you will see all your wires in a plastic tube like thing (or they should be)

I imagine if it only have 4 wires it uses 1 ground for all 3 lights, your left turn signal positive is orange, the right is light blue, the license plate light is blue (the darker one), and green is your ground. check the manual that came with it to figure out corresponding wires. you should post pictures when your done. =)

 

oh and factory splices use male/ female connectors. like these

you can get them at auto zone, when I did mine I just cut them and soldered them, standard butt connectors will work just fine though... just be sure to make tight crimps...

 

Ah ya... the manual Got it used for $20 so it didn't come with a manual. And I've yet to id the manufacturer. I know it's not Targa or Hotbodies.

Just took another look at it. Each turn signal has 3 wires to it: Black, Red and Black w/ white stripe. Looks like the PO spliced the 4 wires in, doing the 3 - 2 wire conversion for lights

 

if it's anything like my tail light...black is ground...red is for the plate lamp and the blue and green will be for your turn signals...can't remember for the life of me which is which right now and my bike is in a buddies garage...you can just temporarily hook up the blue and green to the turn signal wires until you differentiate which is which
