Default Tranny problems

Hey alright, i bought a bike middle of last summer and Right before i put the bike away for the winter this fall i noticed second gear started poping out at about 8,000 RPMs. As i tested it it kept getting worse and it seemed like it was more throttle pressure, so i just had to go easy with it in second and couldnt wamp on it. ask a guy at the local bike shop he said the guy i bought it from must have been poping wheelies from second and wore second gear away, and he hinted at the fact he didnt really want to fix it. it is ridable but does has anyone had this problem or know what could be going on? or know a price to get it fixed? would apreciate any input thanks......Dilan 96 F3

the clutch might be the problem,
all worn out
and if you can learn to do it yourself, might not cost more than 31.00 shipped.
(replacing the clutch)

Sounds like worn dogs/shifting forks to me. It most commonly happens with second gear because it sees the most abuse. Sounds like you're probably going to have to crack open your tranny and have a look.
