Throttle cable replacment
I hope I'm putting this in the right spot, but when I got my bike the previous owner had laid it down on the right side and broke the bar end and throttle tube. I have had a sticking throttle since I got it and thought it was the throttle tube rubbing. so i bought a new throttle tube and I'm trying to in stall it but can't seem to get the throttle cables off the old tube. does anyone have any useful info that might help me get the cables off?
Try this first... adjust the throttle cables to give as much slack as possible. If you're lucky, you'll give enough slack to get them off.
If that doesn't work, then most grief-free way to do this is to take off the tank, airbox, and carbs to get the throttle cables off on the carb end. This will allow you to get the cables off easily on the throttle tube. It sounds like a lot of work (and it probably is), but it'll be a struggle to do it otherwise.
