Now I am not using the magnet pickup that came with the gauges, I am using the speed sensor on the f3. I have the choice of changing the wheel parameters, but am unsure of what they should be. I am running a stock rear wheel, but have a 180 instead of a 160 if that would make a diff.
Issue here is speedo is expecting 1 pulse per wheel revolution while factory speed-sensor has 4 pulses per second. Go into menu where to you can entre wheel circumference and divide by 4.

Hey there. RE the speedomter...I have an aftermarket guage set also.

Two things:

1) The F3 speed sensor is low-active. It connects to common, and then floats. This means you need a pullup resistor to make a square wave output. I used a 4.7K and it worked great. Your guage set may have a pullup resistor internally. The way to check this is to power up the guage cluster-do you have voltage on the speed sensor wire? If you do, then it's built in, if not, you'll probably have to add one.

2) The F3 sensor pulses many pulses per revolution...like 40-50 or something. I couldn't get it to work right because as you go faster the frequency of the pulse waveform exceeded the capability of the aftermarket guage. I build a divider circuit, well, because I can and I had the stuff to do it. Unless your an electronics guy, probably best to get a 1-2 pulse per rotation sensor

Hope that helps.

Chay
