I had a battery go bad and some how it surged the bikes electrical system and knocked out the headlight bulb, tach, and main power switch. I have fixed everything except the tach and the bike runs great. I recently bought a used tach to replace what I thought was a bad tach unit but after replacement the tach it still doesnt work. My question is.... "What makes the tach operate from the engine?". I think I might have a fried sensor or whatever is sending the signal to the tach. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
