steering damper stroke/length?

For a street bike, you will probably use the 120 mm stroke. If you use a shorter stroke you will need to add some screws to the steering stops to prevent using the damper as a steering stop. It can damage the damper as well as pull it off in an extreme situation. I have an Mtoby damper and will measure the stroke and post it back here.

i ended up getting a 75mm one as it is an arrow damper for £52 worth £300 new happy me. its a race bike so im not going to be hitting the steering stops alot and could you get a pic of how its mounted please? i was looking at mounting it at the side but looked easier to mount underneath were the ignition barrel used to sit.
