Stalling in Hot weather...
My bike: 98 F3 - 35,000miles - new plugs - KNN air filter - D&D slip-on - sprocket kit (I've owned it for 5yrs now)
My problem: Hot day out, accelerate hard upto speed limit, cruising... Speedometer falls to 0 and usually no throttle response, although there are times I could pull the clutch and still rev the engine while the speedometer is at 0 (still coasting). I have to pull over and start moving again, only when the speedometer chooses to move again also. There have been times that my bike will be parked for a while and cooled down, then I'll start-up and ride through a sub-division. Get up to a stop sign and start to accelerate, speedometer falls to 0 and bike stalls. starts right up and is unpredictable when it will happen again.
My fix attempts: replaced the regulator/rectifier, changed oil, added premium gas and fuel system additive.
Any ideas? Thanks ahead of time!

Sounds like it could be some kind of electrical problem.....i'd hunt, and track wires look for some kind of a problem (grounded/bad connection) or a carb issue....but im not a mechanic[8D] if you figure it out let us know
Its weird... Ever since I replaced the regulator/rectifier it still stalled at first once or twice, but yesterday I went for a 70 mile hike in pretty hot weather and didn't have a problem. Maybe, that WAS the fix, it just needed time to adjust? Anyways...thanks for the input guys.
I would go back and check the wires leading to the part you replaced and check so that there isn't any chance the insulation rubbed off a wire somewhere and grounded. It's possible to have bad wires, then when you move them, they stop rubbing for a short time. I had this happen in a vehicle and I wound up replacing $200 in parts before I found out a wire had rubbed it's insulation off.. $.25 in electrical tape solved the problem.
