In my amateur opinion, yes.

Obviously this is assuming appropriate chain care.

More tensile strength = less chain stretch = longer chain life.

if you get a good chain like RK x-ring it doesnt stretch unless you just dont do maintanence. If you keep you chain properly tensioned then the 520 will last a lonnnng time

ps....good chains come pre-stretched

All chains stretch. It's what they do with wear. If it comes "pre-stretched" it may not stretch a lot when you first put it on like many new chains do and it may seem as if its not really stretching, but with time and use all chains stretch.

And you may be able to keep 520 a long time (I can't say from experience, but it seems to be a consensus from people that use them that they don't last very long), but if you give the same amount of attention to a 525 or 530 chain they will last much longer. That's the bottom line. And considering most people will never know the difference, why buy a chain with a shorter life??

yea i didnt really mean doesnt stretch at all but it doesnt stretch like an chain that isnt pre-stretched....a good properly maintenenced 520 will last for 2 seasons no problem..the problem is alot of people dont clean and lube there chain like they should.....no doubt bigger chain will last longer though
