Default Slow to Starting Up

Hey all new to this forum. 2nd yr. riding and 2nd cbr owned. I have a 96 f3 and am having problems with it starting up slowly. New battery installed. In the mornings I understand it slow to start after sitting overnight, however yesterday I rode to work, then just 4hrs. later went on my lunch break and bike was slow to starting up. It started up, but idle was low at 500rpms and sputtering. I messed around with the idle adjustment to try to raise it, but could find the sweet spot. Once after a couple revving upabit it and letting it warm and idle, then it was normal. I'm concerned because I shouldn't have to start up the bike several times for the motor to first turn over. And then 2nd I don't think it should idle where the gauge is flickering about a 2000rpms in-between. And then also I don't think my choke is working properly. Because when set high I don't see the tach gauge rpm levels raise up high as it should. Does it have anything to do with the bike being jetted that the choke function is no longer used? looking for input and help. any thoughts???? thanks

Change the plugs and see what happens.

I don't think it would be a fuel problem as much as electrical.Plugs would probably be the biggest culprit here. Also, check the plug on your regulator as mine was loose today and burned the crap out of the connector.Mine didn't want to start right off the bat this morning either and I found that was the issue.
