Default rough idle

hey new here, just got a 1998 cbr 600 today and it runs rough anywhere below 3,000 rpms. after you pass there it picks up quick and runs smooth. but idle to 3,000 its terrible, stalls out most the time if you try to let it idle. any ideas on how to get it runnig right? the guy i got it from said it had been sitting awhile and hasnt really been rode much in a few years. only has 6500 miles on it.

I'm fairly new here (and to CBRs myself), but from reading around for awhile, I bet the first response would be to clean your carbs especially since it's been sitting for awhile. If I read the how-to posts correctly, there are certain pins for different rpm ranges.

There are some good how-tos on here for carb cleaning. I just can't seem to find them at the moment.
