Default Replacing Chain and sprockets- front sprocket thread direction

I'm ready to change my sprockets, just cut off my old chain. The front sprocket bolt, I'm guessing it comes off in the normal thread direction. CAn anyone confirm or refute this?

thanks for any info

Sure, counter clockwise to remove! Once replaced, remember to tighten the bolt at correct torque of 54 Nm.

Should've loosened the sprocket bolts first, before you cut the chain off. The chain helps hold the sprocket from turning. Dont use the transmission to hold it. You risk damaging something inside. Maybe you could put your old chain back on, just loop it over the front and rear sprocket, bike in neutral. Take a piece of wood wrapped in a towel to prevent scratching. Insert it through your wheel so it rest on the swingarm. Then loosen your front sprocket bolt. I you have a friend with you they could press the rear brake to hold it instead and skip the wood through wheel technique.
