Default regulator problems

ok, so heres the deal, I have a 96' CBR600 F3 smokin joe edition and the regulator went out on it. I did what everone suggested and ordered a regulator off a GSXR 600 and did as teh write up said with the wires.

CBR GSXR
3 yellow 3 black
1 red/white 2 black/red
1 green 2 black/white

well i turned the key and there are no lights. like the regulator is not giving off any power. does anyone know what is going on? I am frustrated with it now because it has been sittign for a month now waiting on parts to come in and nothing i seem to do fixes it. The old r/r got hot like it was supposed to so i know it was getting current through it and it would run finr for a few then it would just die and not start again. the battery would be turning iit over fine but if i did get it started it would run for a second then the guages would drop like it was off and about 20 seconds later it would just die. I just put a new stator in it as well, what elsse could it be? any help would be greatly appreciated! thank you in advance for any advice given as well.

It sounds like your battery is fried. If you lost your rectifier/regulator and you are using the same battery, that is probably worth checking into. With your rectifier not working, it will ruin your battery pretty fast. You could have any number of issues internally with the battery. take it down to the local autoparts store and see if they can check it.

so I got the bike running, turned out to be a fuse in the relay that runs off the battery. well i was riding it around the block and it seemed to be running fine so i took it down the road and when i did i went about a mile 1/2 and I went around a corner and it jsut died like someone hit the off switch. well I let it sit for a min then I tried again and it started right back up. well i rode it about another 1/4 mile and it died again with no lights on like I blew a fuse, I pulled the fuse and checked it, it was good, put it back in and lights came back on but it would not turn over.... I have no idea what could be going on with it now :s

yea check your battery voltage, make sure the terminals are on the battery[&:]You should have at least some lights if your battery has any juice whatsoever.
