ok, i had this long paragraphed typed and lost it, so to be short, if the rectifier/regulator went out and i unplugged it, would it keep the bike from starting?

The problem is the r/r is toasted inside. blew the 30A fuse at the starter sol. =no power anywhere. unplugged r/r replaced fuse, cranks but won't start. i wanted to make sure nothing else is wrong before i order a r/r
