Rectifier problem i think
Ok guys i need some help here, i use my f3 for track days only and over the past two years i have put 3 batterys in it. I always blame it on the bike sitting alot, but just recently i took the battery out of my street bike, which is only a year old and put it in the honda. (It was a bikemaster battery). It lasted about 2 months and now its dead, i put it on my tender and it wont charge at all. Now i never had a any trouble out of that battery and both bikes are in a warm garage. The bike runs fine if i jump it, and will run without the battery connected at all, soi assume its charging. Now the connector on my rectifier is melted somewhat on one of the yellow wires, do i need t oreplace the rectifier or is there another problem?
It's possible. The yellow wires are from the stator. If there is any corrosion on those connectors, they heat up and cook. These r/r's are pretty fragile, so I think starting with that is your best bet. Stators don't fail that often.
