Default rear suspension ajustment

ok so whoever had my f3 before me messed with suspension and now the back seems to sit a little high and it makes me slide down the seat all the time. any idea exactly how to lower the rear just about a 1/4" to a 1/2" just by adjusting the stock spring?

This may seem like a weird question but what color is the spring?

i'm pretty sure my f4 has the same rear suspension setup, and my manual says that the bike apparently came with a toolkit that has a spanner wrench in it, and you turn the adjustment ring with that spanner wrench. on mine there are numbers above or below (i can't remember which) the holes in the adjustment ring. there is a tab with a dot on it behind whatever number it is set on. mine is sitting on 2 and rides fine. i haven't had to adjust mine thankfully (i don't have that toolkit) . but you may be able to use a big pair of channel lock pliers to turn it. if not you can buy adjustable spanner wrenches. check to make sure the rebound and compression aren't too hard while you're there if you haven't already. hope you get it worked out!

yea mine has the numbers on it but its kinda hard to tell what number its on. and does the bike go lower with a lower number? and the shock adjusment on the front and rear are both set as soft as they can go. it rides great but the back just sits too high.

look at the left side of the shock behind that adjustment ring. behind one of the holes in the ring there will be a tab with a dot on it. that's what number it's set on. i don't think it will lower the bike if you adjust the spring, but when you sit on it then it will be at the right height, and you won't slide down the seat anymore.
here's a picture. i know it says 89 cbr, but the adjustment looks the same.

hope that helps.

and has it been lowered in the front? if it has then you'll have to lower the rear to get it right. unless the forks have been slid up in the triple trees...then you would be better off moving them back to stock if you want it to handle like it's supposed too. and i would personally adjust the compression and rebound to stock specs. the suspension on mine was all screwed up when i got it. the forks were slid up like 3.5 inches, the all the adjustments on the front forks were pretty much as hard as they would go, and the rear was too soft. it was a mess. it's crazy how much better it rode and handled when i put everything back to stock settings.
