Default question

I cant stand to here that damn clutch noise.how do you get rid of it???? New Clutch plates/springs/???? anything else??? I have been doing some good wheelies now and using the clutch to get it up, now the clutch seems to be getting a little louder plus making some new funy noises like its falling apart.
can somebody please let me know if rebuilding it will eliminate the noise. OR a fix???

All I can say is the clutch is not designed to withstand constant wheelies ... it's for smoothly pulling off in first and changing gear ...really this is abusing the bike ... if you must do this then find out about a clutch upgrade ... OR ... accept worn out clutches as a fact of life ...

I hear ya and i appreciate the knowledge,I only do maybe two/three wheelies a day and the noise was there before i started doing wheelies but ive been living with it. so doing a clutch upgrade will fix the noise some or is there something else that needs to be fixxed. Thanks

Only two or three a day ... lol ... wheelieng isn't something a road bike is designed to do ever, so even one wheelie rags the clutch a little, do it several times a day over a period of time and it's going to fail .. if it was already noisy before then you've just strained an already weak clutch ... when you treat a clutch like this apart from the wear factor you risk buckling the plates too which knocks it out of balance and makes it drag ...

I don't actually know of a specific upgrade but there maybe one out there ... clutches are normally long lived in regular and normal use but like anything mechanical the more you punish it the greater the wear and tear, hope you find what you need :-)

If you're pulling them alot, change your gearing. An increase in torque should help you from replacing your clutch once a year.
