Default Problem with gas

I have a 98 F3

When i give the bike gas, the handle bar dosn't "snap back" fast, it slowly rolls back. How can I adjust this?
Thanks for the help

Sounds like your cables are too tight. You can adjust it right by the throttle grip or if there isnt enough adjustment there, you will have to pull the tank off and adjust it by the carbs. Also if that isnt it, your cables might be dirty or your trottle tube might need cleaning.

I say clean your cables first...and spray some lube under the grips. If that doesn't work, then you are heading for adjusting cables.

Also make sure none of the cables are pinched -- that can cause 'em to be slow returning also. And stay away from pork-n-beans -- "Problem with gas" indeed

I've had an instance where mine ('97 F3) was doing the same thing. I check the cables and all was good but it was still rolling back kind of slowly. What I found was that the end of the grip was pushed too close to the housing (where the kill switch is). It was rubbing right up against it and causing resistance. I pulled it out some, about 1/8th of an inch, put a dab of lube on it and it worked fine after that. In retrospect, I'm sure lubing my cables would not have hurt either.

Good luck!
