Please explain what back end I have to change on 1996 F3
I was looking at aftermarket fairings from:
http://www.nicecycle.com/1997_to_1998_Fairings_s/96.htm
If you read it says for a 1996 the tail light housing has to be changed. Would the entire back end and fairing need to be changed or just the actual plastic piece that covers the bulbs?

I have a 95 and i had to buy a new tail light housing. With the 95 the difference is huge in the shape of the light compared with a 97-98. I could see how just the housing would need to be changed in order to fit newer fairings. You might be able to keep the same housing bracket but chances are that that too will have to be replaced.. The housing is not just a piece of plastic that covers the bulbs. Its an actual housing that has the bulbs installed in it. You wont have to replace your entire backend.

Well, I haven't gotten the fairings back yet, but I did order the 1997 set in Carolina Blue like the North Carolina Tar Heels (Jordan Motorsports). As soon as I get them back, I will take pics. I have the back light ready to go, but I still need the 1997/98 light mounting bracket and the 1997/98 seat. I am going to powder coat the new stator cover white along with the rims. I got the factory new stator cover for $65 on eBay. People kept telling me that they are like $200, but I found it cheaper. I needed a new one because the last person did a slide on it and the word "Honda" no longer existed. Hopefully it will look like this when done (yes, I know it's not a Honda):
