painting the bike
Anyone know how much it usually cost to put new fairings on the bike and also paint it? or just paint it? Also give me some sweet ideas of dark colors together for painting it. I was thinking a dark metallic red or blue going to black. The reason I say dark is because the rims are black. thx.

Unless you're fairings are mutilated, they can be repaired... quite easily too.
A shop will cost you around $500-$700. If you know a guy, buy the paint (around $150), and toss him a hundy or so. He might expect you to do the bodywork for that price though, which isn't hard either. Or you could just toss him a couple hundred and see if he'll do it all.
I did mine, and it was trashed on the right side of the bike. Mine is a rattle can job, but I did it the best I could and it looks killer. I haven't clear-coated it yet - but that's coming. If you're going to be doing some fading and stuff, you need an experienced painter to do it for you with the right equipment.
Here's a pic of mine, remember, the right side was TRASHED. I repaired it all and you can't even tell I ever did anything to it. Just take your time.
